1964 Pontiac Catalina 2+2
In 1964 the Pontiac Catalina underwent a mild restyling and Pontiac officially created a new model, the Catalina 2+2. Total production numbers for the 64 Pontiac Catalina were 257,768 cars, but only 7,998 or 3% of total production carried the 2+2 option. The cars were equipped with a 389 cubic inch V8 producing just over 400 ft. lb. of torque. This 1964 Pontiac Catalina Ventura still has the original numbers matching V8 motor, though enhanced with a new 4 barrel carburetor and aluminum intake manifold. This car also comes with the original owners manual and protecto plate. The car is equipped with ice cold dealer installed a/c, am radio with front and rear speaker adjustment, optional remote rear view mirror, power brakes and power steering. Condition The condition of this rare Ventura optioned Pontiac Catalina is quite good. The paint is fairly fresh and the interior is remarkably well kept. The chrome is very good to excellent and the stainless trim in very good order. The engine compartment is remarkably clean and well preserved. A VIN decode and Tag decode verify the year, make, model, color and interior of the car as being correct, though the car was originally two tone Cameo Ivory over Gulfstream Aqua. The current single color most certainly does not hurt the car in appearance and looks very nice. A recent comprehensive mechanical inspection reports the car in excellent health and ready to drive most anywhere.
